Teabagging

By i1086

If you have played Halo 3 on Xbox Live for an hour and you will know what the term teabagging means and have most likely experienced it. If you haven’t played, or by some miracle haven’t heard or experienced it teabagging is the act of crouching over a dead players head and un-crouching over and over again, and if you don’t know what that implies you probably shouldn’t.

Teabagging has been in games for a long time now, some games try to prevent it by only allowing you to crouch up and down at a very slow rate or allowing instant respawn which doesn’t completely prevent it but it makes it almost pointless if the person you just killed can’t even see you do it. Most of the re-actions I’ve heard on the headset are something like “Oh he just teabagged me!” with a chuckle in there, but once in a while you run into the guy who just gets super pissed, which can end up being really funny.

Now, I’m all for teabagging myself if it’s done under the right circumstances. What I mean is, if you’re doing team slayer and you’re down by 20 and you just triple-teamed a guy, you don’t need to go up and teabag him. Also you don’t need to solo-teabag if you triple-team someone, which means group-teabagging is acceptable. Usually the only times I teabag are when I get a really nice kill, like I just sneak up behind someone and assassinate them when they have no idea whats going on (especially if it’s a sniper or someone who is on a huge spree) or if someone comes up behind me and starts shooting me and I turn around and just stick them right in the face without dying, then I would teabag.

Some examples of times when teabagging isn’t neccessary would be a shot-punch (shotgun + melee), it requires almost no skill at all, I mean, if you’re getting shot by 4 guys and shot-punch them all then you could probably teabag the 4th, but just running into a guy and shot-punching them, I’d say teabagging is a no-no (if you kill someone witha shotgun when you’re close range then go ahead and teabag, missed opportunities like that are good for teabagging) Another example would be when someone is being a loud-mouthover the headset and bragging before or during game, I would teabag them. One more example of a no-no would be when someone else gets the kill and you did nothing, don’t teabag them.

Game-winning kills, especially when it is close are also times to teabag, there is almost no better feeling then the game being 49-49 in ranked team slayer and everyone is just trying to get the final kill and you see that guy just sitting there crouching trying to hide and not be the last death and just annihilatehim with your battle rifle to the head, I would be ashamed if I did not runup there and teabag him. And yet another time for teabagging would be if you see a body propped up against a wall in a perfect position to be teabagged, even if you didn’t kill them or if they have been dead for a while, you can still go into the theater and watch it. And another would be when the body is sure to move around while being teabagged, thats the best.

A point I would like to make is teabagging length, you don’t want to sit and teabag a body for 5 minutes, it doesn’t help your team or your kill count, I would say 4 up-and-downs would be sufficient unless it’s a game-winner go until you’re back at the lobby.

Now, this is all just my opinion and you might have your very own opinions about it but these are some good tips for someone new to teabaggingand someone who doesn’t want to look like an idiot doing it. I would also like to leave you with the tip to make sure you are actually on the body when you are teabagging it, so many times I see someone go up and teabag the ground, 5 feet away from my body, you look stupid doing it. I have 2 more examples of times to teabag to end with and one would be when you have been teabagged under non-teabagging circumstances, those being the things I mentioned earlier. If someone teabags you for one of those you have the right to return the favor. And finally, teabag your friends all the time :)
